The world's favorite pizza-eating heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special panel hosted at NYCC. Could this be a radical new set or yet another crossover cash grab? Let you decide.
Check out below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful background. Everything mentioned here releases on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.
Before diving into the many unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.
Let's unpack a couple of surprising features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can cheat big creatures into the battlefield when an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (It counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.
Should we go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”
Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.
Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards outside of your deck, so was I. But according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.
In any case, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:
As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and which sets would be near it in standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.
“They combine to offer the components for a fun Standard deck,” he says.
Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area instead of only one). Take a look for yourself:
The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprints if we estimate the deck includes 37 land cards.)
How will the Turtles version of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.
As per usual, the company is offering a collection. It costs $69.99 and includes the listed items:
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the items below:
If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.
The Pizza Bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.
This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:
Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The general idea is that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
